Swyambhunath is an ancient religious architecture atop a hill in the western part of Kathmandu valley. Thought to be the oldest architectural sample in the valley, Swyambhunath is a religious place for both Hindus and Buddhists. Also a UNESCO world heritage site, Swyambhunath is also a learning complex for the disciples of both Vajrayana and Mahayana sects of Buddhism.
